I had the privilege of capturing this wonderful couple yesterday evening in honour of their third anniversary! Amy is a fairly new friend of mine, but more importantly, a role model and sheer inspiration. She is the beauty and brains behind Photography by Amy Peters. I am excited to announce that she and I will be working together on a few of the weddings she is photographing this fall, so keep your eye out for those images in the upcoming weeks!

Johnny and Amy met when they were very young, and you can see that these two were meant to be! They were celebrating their anniversary, and hadn’t had a photography session since their wedding, so the pressure was on! To say I was nervous, is an understatement, but thanks to Amy’s guidance when I got a little stuck, I am excited to say these images are more than I could have dreamed of! Johnny and Amy have such joy in their smiles, especially when they look at each other. They are so open and honest about their shortcomings, and this makes them even more endearing.

Working on these images was something I really needed today, as I have been questioning certain relationships; today I was reminded of the relationships that really matter, those of my husband and I in our marriage, my children and us in our parenthood, and God and I in our spiritual relationship. Those are the most important things in my life, and I think those are the right priorities for me. Don’t get me wrong, I love my friends, but those relationships seem to be so dependent on worldly things, and so often there are disagreements that can change things dramatically from one day to the next.

Johnny and Amy have a relationship that I admire, and am thankful to have as well. I wish you both many more years of happiness together as you grow as a family and in your marriage. I wish you God’s blessing in your future, because without that, it will not be the same. Thank you for this amazing opportunity, and I am so excited to work with you and become your friend, for many years to come!
