Mats and Kayla were the lucky winners of our engagement session giveaway at the Fredericton Wedding Show back in February, and we couldn’t have been more thrilled to meet them. Even though they’re getting married in Mexico, their excitement for this Fredericton park engagement session was contagious. Kayla shared her vision for a nature-filled gallery right from the start, and we knew just where to take them.

A Perfect Location by the Riverside

During our visit to Fredericton in April, while catching the solar eclipse, we stumbled upon the perfect park for their session. This little gem offered lush green spaces and access to the riverside, which added some beautiful variety to their engagement gallery. Kayla and Mats were completely at ease in this natural setting, and it made for an incredibly relaxed and enjoyable session.

A Connection Beyond Photography

What really stood out about Kayla and Mats is how compassionate and driven they both are. Kayla works with veterans managing PTSD, and Mats is an osteopath, focusing on holistic healing. We resonated with their dedication to wellness, particularly Mats’ approach to helping patients minimize their need for pain medications. It was heartwarming to see how their careers and values played into the dynamic between them.

A History of Chance Meetings

Kayla and Mats have a sweet history, having known each other since high school, with their parents being friends long before that. A chance encounter on a bus brought them back into each other’s lives, and from there, their love story unfolded. Their Fredericton park engagement session captured this sense of fun and closeness as they snuggled up and laughed at inside jokes, making for a truly memorable day.
