With rain coming down at times and the sun barely peeking through the clouds, it was up to Meaghan and Kevin to be the shining lights of the day. They did not disappoint. The details were stunning. Almost as gorgeous as the bride. The family was one of the most loving that we’ve ever seen. And don’t even get us started on the bridal party! From the very capable maid of honour to the adorable flower girl; it was obvious that their mission of the day was to make Meaghan and Kevin’s big day amazing.
The support system on the bride’s side was an incredible group of ladies consisting of the sweetest mom and the most stunning bridesmaids including sisters(-in-law) and close friends. Throughout the day, these ladies stood behind Meaghan; they held her flowers when needed, made sure she ate, and of course, had the biggest smiles. Other than the bride and groom, naturally. On the groom’s side was a bunch of fun, yet kind and thoughtful gentlemen. Getting to know how each of them knew the couple at the speeches during the reception was heartwarming.
Kevin and Meaghan may have taken a little bit to find each other, but they are so perfect for each other. It sounds like love at first sight from both sides, and their love was already so evident at THEIR ENGAGEMENT SESSION. The smile on Kevin’s face as he watched Meaghan and her father walk up the aisle said it all. I’m not sure anyone can be more excited about this new chapter than Kevin; Meaghan coming a very close second! They snuck little glances at each other during the ceremony. They were so excited to have a little bit of time away from the busyness to enjoy some portrait time that focused on just the two of them. And they took every opportunity to kiss during the reception.
Their sense of humour became so apparent during the speech that almost didn’t happen (a story for another time), and throughout the day the atmosphere was kept lively by their wonderful family and bridal party. The staff at Firerock made sure they were fed well during portrait time, and zipping around on golf carts was fun for everyone (including me, of course).
From the gorgeous bouquets designed by Floral Temptations to the stunning dresses from Sophie’s Gown Shoppe and Garber’s Bridal elevated this Firerock Golf Club wedding. But it was the personal touches, like the adorable sign that Chloe walked down the aisle with and the maple syrup that served as guest favours, that made the guests take notice. It was very important for Meaghan and Kevin that I capture all those important firsts; the first time her dad saw her, the first time that Kevin saw his wife-to-be, etc. The smiles on their faces during those moments made the day fly by.
These two are so excited for this new chapter in their lives! And they get to start it off by travelling to Portugal and Greece. Meaghan and Kevin, I hope that while you’re gone (and hopefully warm), you can take a breath. Planning a wedding is a lot of work, and your wedding was so well put together. Bertus and I wish you many more years of happiness. We are truly excited to see what the future holds for you. But from these photos, it’s obvious that you’ve gotten the right send-off from your incredible family and friends. Enjoy your honeymoon, and we hope you love these images as much as you do!
