Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory Wedding | Bijou & Josh

Big weddings are definitely something we’re missing right now, but we have to admit that intimate weddings, like this Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory wedding, have a special part of our hearts!

LOVE IS NOT CANCELLED

Josh and Bijou have become sweet friends of ours since the first time we met them at Ali & Evan’s elopement. The genuine love these two have for each other and for their friends and family is just incredible. We’ve been so blessed to have all these incredible couples as clients (and friends), and Josh and Bijou are no exception. As photographers, we often quickly become invested in our couples love story and their journey towards their big day. All we want for them is for their big day to be perfect; the way they’d always imagined! And that’s what happened for Bijou and Josh. Even amidst all the uncertainty of the world that we’re living in!

TROPICS IN THE WINTER

The day started slightly cool and misty, at the beautiful Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory. While it was an early spring day outside, it felt like we were in the tropics inside. There is no better place to get married in a Canadian winter than in an indoor botanical garden. Out of the dry cold, and into the gorgeous, luscious greenery, that reminds us of a warm Florida summer day. Bijou was a breath of fresh air, like always, and she was almost as excited as we were. Okay, maybe she was more excited. We were just so thrilled to be back, doing what we love with people we love even more.

The moment that these two set eyes on each other for the first time on their wedding day did not disappoint. Josh was probably not expecting such a wedding-style wedding dress, but it suited her to perfection. Bijou and Josh walked the last half of the aisle together, signifying that they were going into this day and new life together. Their vows were casual, yet intimate. Incredibly meaningful, for sure!

ALL THE BUTTERFLIES

After all the papers were signed, it is custom to release some butterflies. They were slightly dozy, but yet it was such a special moment. I’m pretty sure everyone had butterflies at some point of the day. Portrait time is always our favourite, and as our time was so limited in the building, we made sure that every capture was epic in its own way. Their engagement session was gorgeous, but it was nothing like this stunning Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory wedding. And the best part? This isn’t even all of the photos of their gorgeous wedding day! For the remainder of their wedding, which was captured at Cambridge Mill, keep your eyes out for next week’s blog post! We couldn’t be more excited to share!!!
