The cold and windy weather could not take away even an ounce of joy as these two became husband and wife at this gorgeous Toronto Lakeshore Wedding.
Sara and Mitch’s engagement session was only a few short months ago. WOW, did they both show the complete opposite sides of Canada’s climate! While September was golden, glowy and warm, December was bitterly cold with the wind whipping everything into disarray. However, both times Sara and Mitch’s love was more than evident, which was the highlight again last week Saturday!
If there would be a picture by the word “dedication” in the dictionary, it would be one of these two looking at each other. After God, these two mean everything to each other. And that shines through in all their actions and words; it’s not just their “ideal”. To know Sara and Mitch is to love them, and I was so grateful that I got to be part of this (second) most important day in their lives.
Shortly before Mitch met Sara, his life changed forever. As he adopted Christianity into his life, everything changed for him. Then he met this gorgeous beauty. It wasn’t long before they knew that they were meant to spend the rest of their lives together. Mitch followed Sara to Sherbrooke as the world was shutting down this past year. Being so involved in the Dakin’s daily life allowed him to learn even more, especially from his pastor father-in-law. And Mitch’s character allows him to be honest and upfront, which has even impacted our family life. It is truly amazing when clients are able to make you better people; it makes us so grateful for couples like Mitch and Sara.
This Toronto Lakeshore wedding day started at the church. Mitch and Sara both got ready on location for their first time seeing each other on their wedding day. Sara was surrounded by her closest of friends. Mitch was so grateful to have his family in attendance. Sara truly stunned in her simple Piondress Gown, and with the florals from The Wild Sage, she looked nothing short of a princess. Her father, who had shed a tear or two as he first saw his daughter, led her to her new husband. As he was also the pastor, he got to do the honour of both asking who gave Sara to Mitch, and giving the gorgeous bride away with his wife.
There were so many moments that were made so special in this way. Those who were watching the live feed were able to enjoy all the special moments. As her father pronounced them husband and wife, the excitement for the first kiss could not have been more evident on Sara’s face! Memories of their engagement session started flooding back as they started singing the doxology together. (That September evening had a particularly beautiful sky, causing Sara and Mitch to break out in song to glorify God, their Maker.)
Mitch and Sara made every part of their ceremony special in their own way. Their unique characters really came out as Sara jumped into Mitch’s arms and he spirited her off back up the aisle. Truly a moment of joy and happiness for the new Mr. and Mrs. Gilboy. Due to the weather, we were limited in the amount of time we could spend capturing this sweet couple outdoors. However, each moment was filled with laughter, and the cold didn’t matter as the memories made were so precious.
Dearest Sara and Mitch, even though we weren’t both able to be there to capture your beautiful big day, these wishes are from both of us. We wish you God’s blessing as you start this amazing new part of your lives together. We hope and pray that it may be everything you hoped it was. And as your vows stated, that you may be there for each other through the ups and the downs. We have learned great things from the two of you. We cannot wait to see how you grow so we can continue learning. Wishing you an enjoyable honeymoon, and we can’t wait for the big party next year so we can see you again!
So exciting! Love the pictures Dianne – you did such a great job. Thank you so much and many blessings to you and your family this Christmas. Esther Dakin 🙂
