Windy Plympton Chapel Wedding | Cassie & Mike

After knowing Cassie and Mike for over two years, this Plympton Chapel wedding finally arrived. And other than the two of us, Mike and Cassie, we are pretty sure that Kaelin was the most excited to get married!

A WHIRLWIND CEREMONY

The second wedding of the weekend was a lot windier, but just as full of love as the one the day before. Instead of a well-known venue that we’ve photographed at before, Cassie and Mike were married at the Plympton Chapel in Camlachie. A cute little white church in a small town; it was the perfect backdrop for their down-to-earth ceremony and reception. And with the help of the incredible Lindsay from Devoted Events, everything went so smoothly. And to our surprise, nothing blew away.

The day was started indoors, and the gorgeous interior was a delight to photograph in. The girls were relaxed; Cassie especially, and we kept that a priority as she was 35 weeks pregnant. We just love it when couples get ready, married and party at the same venue. Cassie and Mike’s wedding was therefore a joy to photograph. It took some organizing to ensure that bride and groom didn’t see each other before the ceremony. When that time finally came, could we help it that we were tearing up? It was probably the wind. Or allergies.

The words of the couple might have been hard to hear over the gusts of wind, but at the end of it, they were married. After having to postpone and with the possibility that it had to happen again threatening them for a bit, it was no surprise that it was the loudest cheer we’ve heard from guests at a ceremony!

BEAUTIFUL DETAILS

Cassie and Mike had that extra year to make their wedding extra special. And they did not waste that time. From the stunning invitation suite that was updated, to this new wedding venue… We were so thrilled with it all. The location offered an empty lot across the street that was perfect for all the portraits. And when all the family and wedding party photos were taken, it was finally that time to capture these two in their beautiful wedding attire. Cassie was so much a glowing mama, and Mike had a hard time keeping his eyes off of his new wife.

When we returned to the venue, we couldn’t believe how that the backyard had been transformed. From a low-key ceremony location to an elegant and classy reception area, Lindsay really does know what she is doing! The delicious food looked almost too good to eat. And the speeches. Yes, we had to go through those a second day in a row. We’re surprised Dianne wasn’t a puddle by the end of it. Kaelin grabbing the mic to throw little sprinkles of joy at his parents and the guests, mostly just wishing everyone was enjoying themselves. And they were

DANCING UNDER THE STARS AT THE PLYMPTON

The string lights that had been strung all over the backyard sparkled as the night sky as Cassie and Mike shared their first dance as husband and wife. This Plympton Chapel wedding felt so surreal, with incredible fairytale touches all throughout. We absolutely loved being part of it, especially as we’ve gotten to know so many of the bride and groom’s loved ones over the last few years. Since we’re both preemie-mamas, Cassie has definitely become a close friend of Dianne. That is a bond that you just cannot explain, but that connection means so much to us. We’re so thankful that Cassie’s current pregnancy is going so well, and the same can be said for Dianne’s.

Cassie and Mike, we’re so excited that we finally got to spend this long awaited day together. From the day you were describing to me at your consultation, some details have definitely changed. But our love for you has only grown and we cannot wait to see your family visibly grow again soon. We will keep you in our prayers, and wish you God’s unending blessings on your marriage and your life together. Kaelin, Dianne has been so proud to be your auntie, and she cannot wait to see how amazing you’re going to be as a big brother!
