We love being back in Ontario for family sessions, and this Norwich farm family session was a highlight of our last trip. Jessica and Brad and their four children shone in a beautiful colour palette, with all credit to Jessica. Their farm was the perfect location!
Two weeks ago, we had the pleasure of photographing the Hakkenberg family again, this time during a beautiful Norwich farm family session. Our last session with them was a chilly mini session on a tree farm. This session was thankfully much warmer and filled with new memories. Since last time, the family has welcomed little Molly, adding even more joy to the experience.
It was wonderful to see how much the children had grown since our last meeting. Jackson has become an excellent big brother, always looking out for his siblings. Savannah, on the other hand, is proving to be quite the little farmer, helping her dad all around the farm. She’s motivated and very eager to learn. Most excited to be photographed was probably Samuel. His sweet, genuine smiles were easy to capture. And little Molly, with her adorable “cheese” smile, stole the show on many occasions.
Brad and Jessica, along with their children, live on a picturesque farm near Norwich, Ontario. Jessica, a former teacher who now homeschools their children, and I (Dianne) share a lot in common. When the children were asked if they’d ever want to “go back to school” (meaning a traditional school building), Jessica quickly reminded me that they’ve never attended school, so they have no comparison. It was easy to see the joy that these children have for their parents and vice versa. We often see a deep connection between siblings and parents when they spend so much time together.
Brad and Jessica also own and operate a goat farm. I (Dianne) felt a wave of nostalgia being back among the goats. Growing up on a dairy goat farm on the other side of Norwich myself, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of déjà vu in the best possible way. There’s something incredibly comforting about being back on a farm, surrounded by the familiar sights and sounds of rural life.

This Norwich farm family session produced one of our largest galleries yet, and we’re thrilled with how it turned out. The day after the session, Jessica sent us the sweetest email, sharing that the children had glowing reviews of their experience. We know that we actually work for those little ones, and their opinions matter most. So we call that a job well done.
Jessica had to wait a bit longer for the sneak peeks as we traveled back home to New Brunswick. The results prove it was worth the wait. Sessions like this make our trips back to Ontario so special. They give us the chance to reconnect with families like the Hakkenbergs and create lasting memories for them. And for us.
