Top Three New Brunswick Locations for Family Portraits in 2024

It’s 2024, and just about portrait session season. You’re once again challenged to find a unique location to have your family photos taken. Being parents of six children, we know that there is a lot that comes with booking a family session. The last thing you’re looking forward to is making all the additional decisions such as what colour scheme to use this year and where to take your photos. New Brunswick offers some stunning landscapes that are absolute perfection for this, and here are our top three choices! And the best part? All these New Brunswick photography locations feature some body of water, providing endless possibilities for capturing stunning, one-of-a-kind portraits.

1. Irving Nature Park

Nestled on the shores of the Bay of Fundy, Irving Nature Park is a photographer’s paradise. With over 600 acres of pristine coastal habitat, winding trails, and secluded beaches, this park offers a diverse range of settings for your family session. When we’ve been there, we’ve been able to keep the walking to a minimum. Oh, and of course still have a large variety of backgrounds. With the ever-changing tides of the Bay of Fundy as your backdrop, your gallery is sure not just to be big, but also gorgeous! Expect a little wind, but even with that, your photos will be once-in-a-lifetime. Timothy and Samantha’s big family session proves this. Unless you take us back another time, of course!

2. Bay of Fundy

Speaking of the coast, it’s not just Irving Nature Park that offers stunning views of this natural wonder. The entire coastline along the Bay of Fundy is a photographer’s dream. There is little that compares to its dramatic cliffs, rocky shores, and mesmerizing tides. You could explore the caves of St. Martins (like Peter and Karla did with their three girls). Another option is to take a scenic drive (with all the stops) along the Fundy Trail Parkway. That would not just make it an amazing experience, but also offers endless opportunities for breathtaking family portraits. Having the world’s highest tides as your backdrop is pretty unique, if you ask us!

3. Belleisle Bay

Welcome to the heart of New Brunswick. Belleisle Bay is underutilized when it comes to New Brunswick photography locations. With its calmer waters and lush forests, Belleisle Bay offers a peaceful and picturesque setting for your family session. Maybe you’re up for a leisurely stroll along the shoreline. Or you want to just simply taking in the stunning views from one of the many scenic overlooks (which Stephanie and Ricky did along with their sweet children). Belleisle Bay is an incredible option for capturing timeless family memories. We might even recommend bringing an extra change of clothes. That way you can dive in and add a whole other aspect to your gallery!

We don’t think it matters which of these three locations you choose as your New Brunswick photography location. You’re guaranteed to have some of the most unique backdrops for your family session this year. We know you will have no regrets when it comes to capturing your family this year. Choosing one of these location will make that extra sure!
